Fan zones have emerged as critical sites for balancing festivity, security, and sustainability in contemporary sport-event management. Despite their growing prominence, environmental assessments often overlook fan zones, instead focusing on venue-centric analyses. The framework enables the measurement, attribution, and real-time optimization of ecological impacts within dense urban contexts in the Gulf region. Beyond technical innovation, the study articulates governance mechanisms for data privacy, stakeholder coordination, and standardization, fostering replicability and cumulative knowledge generation across events and cities, this research advances fan zones as living laboratories for sustainable mega-event operations, with implications for environmental management, urban policy, and event governance.
